Joe Ziolkowski: Ziolkowski's nude males, suspended (often literally and from their heels) in studio deep space, twist in the wind of modern (gay) life. For "Pressure," a series that was photographed from beneath a thick pane of glass, the men seem to be pushing at the frame itself, trying to get out. With their flesh flattened against the glass, they look like the physical embodiment of stress, but they might also be naked astronauts, their faces distorted on takeoff, limbs loosed by weightlessness. Through November 2, Wessel O'Connor Gallery, 580 Broadway, at Prince Street 219-9524.
